Jazz Orchestra

The University Jazz Orchestra is a single-seat, auditioned Basie-style big band jazz focusing upon an intensive study of large ensemble repertoire composed by Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Thad Jones, Oliver Nelson, Fletcher Henderson, and others. Rehearsal of the compositions and listening and reading assignments culminate in an end-of-semester public concert.
